That's really no excuse for her stupidity, but she's just a random citizen. Therefore, I have to say the most stupid person in America award goes to Michelle Bachmann, hands down. She is supposedly an educated woman, and somehow she was voted into office, but every time she opens her mouth, ignorance comes barreling out in full force. I don't see Shaneen Barron having much impact on the country as a whole, but a lot of people pay attention to Michelle Bachmann. It worries me that people are buying into the things she says. That's it, that is what all the noise was about attacking his talk to the nation's kids. Republican Christian zealots are deathly afraid the president will build a "cult of personality". If the kids admire and appreciate him as a hero then later on when he comes out in support of, say repealing DOMA, he will influence their thinking. Or pick any other right wing social or economic sacred cow. Why he could destroy the zealots entire program of fear and intimidation. That's really all they have, you know. They cannot contribute anything positive, so they go into jackal mode. Destroy Barack Obama's presidency. They will use any sleazy tactics they can devise.
