I never met a librarian that I didn't like. When I take the Strong Inventory I always wind up sharing likes and interests with librarians. I have taken this inventory perhaps four times over the course of a lifetime. Have you every taken this test? It is used by school counselors to help students gain insights into themselves and show them who they share interests with.

Parents who attempt to censure information a child can have, be it via books, magazines, radio, TV, or the Internet are very misguided. Information does not harm a child if they have been taught how to process what they receive. Simply seeing a forbidden picture or reading a forbidden book will not "indoctrinate" them. They need to understand how to use reason and facts to reach conclusions about what they come in contact with. They have an absolute right to information and furthermore they have the right to form their independent opinion about the information they receive. The parents and the schools responsibility is to teach children what to do with information. When parents attempt to censure information they just make that information into a commodity of great interest to the child. It is a self defeating strategy.
