What these people are afraid of is that the law may clamp down on physical punishment of children and it may recognize the fact that children are worthy of respect. They deserve to be listened to and to have their wishes taken into account. An end to battering children is long overdue.

Congressman Hoekstra believes his opponents are well meaning but we lack understanding. We certainly understand that all but two nations in the UN have ratified the UN CRC and most are actively working to modify their laws so they are in compliance. This brings back memories of the rush to go to war. The sentiments of tens of millions of people around the world counted for nothing.
