There is a limit to what the planet can support and for this reason alone our attitudes towards unlimited procreation require thoughtful consideration. If devout religious people are procreating simply to insure that their particular religion survives that is unethical because it treats their children as objects and must be condemned.

I am a child of this movement, and so are four of my siblings. I really think that my parent's are awesome. They raised us very religiously, but they did instill in us a drive to ask hard questions and to really search for answers and to be objective. From what I remember, the whole "quiverfull" thing was brought up by my Mother. She got it from some of her friends at church. My parent's may have been atypical, I would consider them as being pretty open and nonjudgemental. They hauled me and my siblings all over the world during their career's as missionaries, we learned languages, different cultures and I would not change that experience for anything. I am very thankful for all of my siblings. My mother would have had more children if she could. We are not all brainwashed. We have gone in many different directions since. This movement created and is creating many large families, its not bad. I knew many of these families, one had 15 kids. Most of these parents are very involved in their kid's lives, like mine were, and it is a good thing. These kids are not the ones falling through the cracks. Many of them were also homeschooler's, and of the ones that i know, they turned out pretty well adjusted. Self-sufficient would be a good adjective for them, and most of the older ones learn quite a bit about dealing with people and solving disagreements, lol, imagine having 14 other siblings to have to share with. I no longer consider myself a xtian, but an atheist agnostic humanist. I am not the only "quiverfull" kid to turn out this way. I see nothing wrong with people having large families, I may want one too some day.

I feel for you! It is to be hoped that the spirit of Jesus should be present in the parents of your grandchildren, and, perhaps with the help of the Minister of their Church, or some other Professional, some forgiveness and reconciliation can be achieved. There is certainly no reason for innocent children to be denied a Grandmother's love because of adult misunderstandings or grudges!

If that doesn't work, and the Church can provide no relief here, then seeking legal remedy is necessary! Every State has SOME provision for bringing grandparents into the grandchildren's lives, although this differs from State to State. You may also want to consult grandparents' rights groups concerned with your situation in your area. You are, sad to say, in the company of thousands of other grandparents who are also being denied access to their grandchildren, and they may have some good recommendations. I would rather have your troubled family reunited peacefully, without recourse to courts and lawyers, but you HAVE rights here, and if all else fails, you must assert them!

Best wishes,
David K. Meller

What is the fuss about? Modern women have had their way, from women working outside the home, largely dispossessing men in mens' jobs and professions, to overeducated women being difficult, quarrelsome, and selfish both in and outside the home, to wages diminishing--and taxes increasing--as women displace men in government, business, academia, the civil service, and heaven help us, even the Armed Forces!

Modern women, and the men who so foolishly accomodate them, have created a bloody mess! It is past time for a reaction, however long delayed and moderate. The traditional family must reassert itself. If women are to some extent the beloved helpmeets of their husbands, and if men are once again the guide, the provider, and the PATRIARCH, this can only work to the advantage of everyone (except a few deranged and badly neurotic feminist losers)! As far as modern women and feminism are conerned, I have seen the future, and it doesn't work.

PEACE AND FREEDOM!!

Oh...you non-believer you, James Tracy-man....why don't you know that the "lust of certainty" gives these so-called christain soul robber a special boost, a daily ego-blow job? "Certainty" gives every little item in this woman's life an organized projection around someone else who is making a decision for her; what else do people like this have but a closed loop answer to everything that pops up not on the daily menu?

I believe there is growing recognition of the right of grandparents to have access to their grandchildren. It probably varies from state to state, but the more progressive West Coast and Northeast would probably be ahead in this regard. I can do some research for you if you like. Otherwise, just do a Google search for "gramdparent rights".

My son and wife is totally in Quiverfull and have seven kids...they will not allow me to see my grandchildren because I am not "perfect" enough and they have basically forbidden me to have any contact with any of them. I am just now finding out how disturbed QF is...I sobbed and sobbed to think that my poor grand.babies will be lied to about me and grow up to believe nothing but lies all the way around...I am open to hear comments...and suggestions as to what I can do to get to see my grandchildren.
